Sega CD, YESSS! I'm gonna go watch it right now!

EDIT - okay, I watched it and did enjoy it. I posted a comment at YT.

MJR, I love the intro song to your videos. I'm a guitarist too, and I figured it out once and did an acoustic guitar version. I should record it someday ... but I'd have to re-learn those chords again of course.

My intro is a snippet of an old demo called Puttana from the late 90s. I actually released the whole 3 minute version on Patreon (along with other original music) if you are interested.

"The PS3 of the 90's". Yeah I could totally see that. An all-in-one type unit. Sure.

BTW, you didn't mention it in the vid, but it also plays (via a converter) Master System games, Mark III games and Sega Card based games as well.

Neat video describing such an obscure "console". Interesting that the Mega LDs were region locked. Of note, Laser Players do NOT have a region lock for regular video discs which allows playing Japanese pressings on a U.S player. No Macro Vision either in cases one wanted to record the video to tape back in the day.

LASER DISC GUIDE - http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=232140#p232140

Concerning the developer Computer Interface module, there were industrial model standalone Laser Players that had a PC interface hookup. It was used to control the video in Arcade cabinets and with various training discs; I have the In&Out Burger Employee Laser Disc. Also have the Palcom Astron Belt Disc that worked with a different player with an MSX interface. Lastly I own the original Arcade Dragons Lair Laser Disc with its original Arcade Schematics Booklet. All can be watched on my regular Laser Players though the interactivity is limited to the Jog Shuttle Dial. Imagine if that Computer Interface Module was released, perhaps the Dragons Lair game?

@ Metal Jesus - How about an "Atari Star Raiders" themed game on a Palcom Laser disc called STAR FIGHTERS. Galactic Chart and a very familiar forward track interface, I would love to play that!

That format was/is region free.

That is what I thought too; all my Japan import Laser Disc movies play just fine. The owner in Metal Jesus's video stated the Mega LD game Laser Discs were region locked and perhaps was mistaken?

This site states the Mega LDs are not region locked. However it also states the Palcom game discs were not NTCS which is not true since they are for Japanese MSX Laser Players!
