Forgotten FPS Games - Part 2

Not every series of first person shooters gets a proper sequel like Call of Duty or Halo. Instead some FPS games come on the market, maybe get a sequel if we're lucky and then sadly fade into the sunset. This week these 7 unloved FPS gems get one last glance from fans of the genre.

I kept saying to myself, "Come on Shogo!" then finally near the end of the video I went "Yaaay, Shogo!"

I really wish there would be a modern sequel to this game. I could be amazing.

Anyway very entertaining video. I never played the Time Splitters series despite being told of its greatness. I have to track the games down someday.

FTFY

I enjoyed the Blood demo years ago, but every time I look for a copy it is kinda pricey. I keep hoping that one will turn up at Goodwill. Shogo is certainly fun with a slathering of cheese, though I don't think they made the mech sections feel different enough from the human ones. Instead of feeling like you're moving around in a 30 ton mech, it feels more like you're stomping around in future Lilliput or something. Still that's a nitpick on a fun game. Slave Zero did a better job of making you feel like you were a giant mech stomping around the city IMHO.

Great list. I was also cheering for Shogo at the end. Such a damned good game.

I'm glad you fixed that for me. It wasn't looking right. :)

As for Shogo, I would really like to find the original big box if possible one day. Most people just have the CD jewel case, which was sold in the bargain bins along with Septerra Core. Really fun game though...

How long are you going to ignore Redneck Rampage?

My buddy Drunken Master Paul really wants to include that game in these videos. He's got a copy he's supposed to let me borrow so I can capture footage...

Hell yeah, great followup.

I use to love Blood when I was younger.

I really enjoyed Singularity and happy to see a modern game that is pretty much already forgotten, I know a lot of my friends thought it was just a rip off of Bioshock.

Looking forward to a third, also as Dave said, get Redneck Rampage in there.

EDIT: Also congratulations on the weight loss, you are looking much fitter and healthier, keep it up.

Nice to see Black in the set, my favorite FPS on the PS2. Shogo really looks good, have to keep an eye out for it. As to your FPS next set of reviews question concerning vehicles, YES! The complicated "six axis" roll in Forsaken and Descent just adds to a new dimension in a FPS fashion. PS1 Descent is unique with the PS1 Flightstick support, a perfect match! You got me thinking about trying the old pre duel shock Flight controller on the PC version of Descent.

We should try to put together some online matches for Shogo.
