Protecting N64/SNES/NES boxes

I wonder if anyone makes any kind of case or container for protecting these things. I don't really obsess over protecting cd jewel cases or dvd cases for games on PS1, Saturn,PS2, etc, etc. because I can easily remove the insert, instructions and CD/DVD and put it into another case, but boxes for cartridge based games are unique and not so easily replaceable.

I've seen pictures of clear plastic containers for things like PS 1 games or Gameboy games, but not NES,SNES or N64 games.

I'd also like to know if I can these things cheap.

I have bought a box of 100 of them and they work great.. you can even cut them up a bit on the inside to fit a NES game.

Those slim covers are interesting, but I was thinking of something that could hold not just the game and instructions but the cardboard boxes themselves. I remember seeing somewhere on the net these plastic, clear cases that you could slide an NES game into and close it. I'd like to get something like that for SNES and N64 games.

That forum looks interesting, though I'm more interesting in collecting and preserving original or I guess you could say, official, game boxes. Oddly enough, I find boxes for cartridge games to be a bit more valuable than the games themselves. I mean they tend to be harder to find than their respective games are, and it's harder to keep those boxes in good condition than the sturdy, built to last cartridges.

I apologize, I don't recall the dimensions of the boxes you speak up, but are old plastic VHS boxes too small? That's be convenient if the boxes could fit into those...

I'm also a Star Wars collector and this site makes custom acrylic cases. Probably not as cheap as you would want, but perfect to protect more rare boxes. All you have to do is email him with the dimensions of the box and he will give you a quote.

I sort of have a goal of collecting every S-NES, N64, Genesis and Nintendo game that I have ever had an interest in complete with box and instructions. I'm not looking for truly complete collections, just the games that interest me the most. At some point I realized I'd probably want something to preserve those boxes since I'm going to the trouble of getting them, while most gamers go the easier route of just buying loose cartridges.

well i just put them in a shoe box since those are kind of sturdy and easy to store.

great if you collect super famicom games. I got one with my complete copy of super metroid sfc. Works great, very strongly built. Protects the box well without obstructing you from being able to look at it. A little pricey for me though so I just used this solution for now
