I want to keep my cases like new

Post by More Than Nostalgia »

I am looking into keeping my discs in sleeves and as soon as I open the game put the case somewhere safe. Are there some good places to put the game case to make sure they stay like new? My plan it to display them all once my wife and I get a house.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cardboard Box.

Honestly it doesn't seem like much but It really is that simple. Don;t worry about using plastic bins unless they're going to be stored in a humid/moist/musty environment.

I used these relatively inexpensive plastic drawer bins from target. They are also interconnectable so you can increase the number of drawers vertically. But they are more expensive than a cardboard box, also 100% less metal gear. But you get to have easy pretty access to all of your game manuals, unless those are going in the jewlsleeve type sleeve.

Leave them sealed lol. Pretty much sliding them back and forth causes them to scratch so maybe bundle them tightly in plastic shipping wrap "aka saran wrap". That will keep them dust and debris free and keep them from sliding around. Be careful with paper or plastic sleeves, as they scratch discs like no tommorow. Dust builds up in the sleeves over time and causes scratches. I'd say eat it and keep them in the case its the best protection for the disc. The most imporatant thing is keping the disc safe and scratch free.

What games are you talking about? PSX/Dreamcast etc use standard jewel cases so that shouldn't be a problem. If you have scratched up gamecube/xbox/ps2 (etc) cases, you can try using something like Novus plastic polish to clean them up and remove the scratches. Just be sure to remove the box art.
