And after the NES came out other people would say "That's a fake Nintendo!" When they saw it. Kids were brutal. If you didn't have an NES you were looked down-upon. Nobody accepted my famicom as a real "Nintendo"

I remember when the NES came out and when I saw the carts I thought it could just plug one into the Famicom and it would work. Borrowed a friend's game. I remember it was Ice Climber. Nope, didn't fit. Too big. :(

Wow, that must have sucked. Didn't it convince anyone when you had popular games before they were even for sale in the US?

Nah, to a bunch of 8-year-olds that doesn't matter. The entire world was our neighborhood so we couldn't even fathom other countries.

What's that 360 Shmup with the red bird sprite on it. Really really impressive collection. Cool story about the Famicom too, sorry you were teased about it. I think I was one of the only kids in the neighborhood with a Sega Master System, so I totally understand.

I had an SMS, too. We were bastard children. :(

The 360 game with the red penguin is "Gesen Rabu" which is just Japanglish for "Game Center Love". It's part of the the "Shooting Love" family. It's a compilation of arcade games that have been released in Japan. Most of the games are non-shmups but it does have 4 versions of TriZeal (CombatZeal) that are only available on this compilation. Because of that it's considered part of thE 360 shmup lineup.

How do you split up your gaming time? Do you stick to a plan to try and experience each title, or just wing it? I only have a fraction of the games pictured and that still overwhelms me. XD

Most of the retro games have been beaten or played many times. A lot of them I've had since new. As for the other games, I just play whatever I'm in the mood for. I'll look at the shelf and just grab whatever 'calls to me', so-to-speak. For the really long RPGs, I try to beat at least 2 or 3 per year. Maybe more. No rush.
