My Sony Bravia LCD crapped out after 8 years. They don't make em like they use to!
I have another 9 year old Vizio I know is on borrowed time.
+1 for CRTs there!

I only got rid of it because I have too many CRTs, but it still worked fine. My parents had a 27" bubble screen Samsung in their living room until just a few years ago. They had it for quite a few years, and it still worked fine (they upgraded to an HDTV). So as far as reliability goes, I've never had a problem with Samsung.
I hear ya, once you go beyond 27" a CRT gets to be a real pain in the ass. My 27" Samsung is as light as a feather (for a CRT). My 27" Sony Wega is heavy, but I can still move it by myself. My 30-something" bubble screen Trinitron takes two people to move.

That screen at that size must be really clean and sharp. I've only used larger flat screen trinitrons.
The geometry on them always bugs me enough that I bring out a yard stick and mess with the geometry in the service menu while testing vertical and horizontal scrolling.
What hardware are you using to interface your consoles with the component input?
