Will you be getting Takoron, Mike? I'm curious if the Wii Octomania version is much improved over the Naomi version.

hmmm, not familiar. Could it go by something else? I've heard of Makaron, but I thought that was a DC emulator...

Yeah, the standard title is No- Kone Puzzle Takoron. They have it in that list as Noumiso Kone Kone Puzzle Takoron; as the full title.

Puzzle takoron is so freaking fun. I didn't even know about it until Gabe over at neo-geo asked if I had it.

NAOMI stuff, as stated, isn't too bad in a JVS cab since that's what they're made for. However the JAMMA setups aren't really THAT bad if you're technically inclined. It's a lot to learn to begin with, but more than worth it for the amount of games available.

I hate to advocate piracy but man... netbooting is awesome, and it's way easier than swapping a security PIC chip every time you want to change a GD-ROM to a new game. I keep a list of games next to my cab for visitors, and at this point I can literally boot a new game from my phone while sitting at the cab. Way easier than having to open the cab up for anything.

As far as other titles aside from puzzle takoron that weren't really available outside of NAOMI, these are the ones I found fun (some might be ported and I could be unaware):

Akatsuki Bk Ausf Achse
Azumanga Daioh Puzzle Bobble
Illvelo (illmatic envelope)
Mamonoro (fun non-forced scrolling vertical shmup)
Melty Blood Act Cadenza and Actress again (amazing fighters... they have PS2 ports)
Tetris Kiwamemichi
Jingi Storm
Senko No Ronde

Dont forget about your pal fast, who is 14 hours away but will rent a cargo van. He may need another candy cab or two.

Since you have the Jamma adapter already, take a look at this:
http://etim.net.au/scart2arcV20_orders/orders.htm

It is a RGB Scart to Jamma Adapter. For about $160 USD, he will ship it to you with a breakout board with two male PS2 sockets on it. That way you spend about $250 for a Jamma Dreamcast, then another $70ish and you have a Jamma Saturn or Wii. Soul Caliber in a MVS is pretty awesome.

*Pricing all based on when I was going to set this up a couple months ago. They may have gone up or down.

I think aside from spawn and 18 wheeler, I play all of those regularly. I'd be happy to help you get something set up.

My new TATE setup until I get another cab (or two).

Here's a board i've been waiting on my I/O to arrive so I could test - got this one from aaron:

But here's what I really wanted to play:

...and, we brought Aidric's cab up to his room to clear out more space downstairs:
