You should get a coin slot facade.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

HAPP has the buttons, get the orange one. The Coin Slot Return Button could also be tied to a micro switch. Use it for the Coin Button in Mame or the Start Button in Consoles.

Very good looking woodworking!

Did you design the cabinet yourself? I really like the curved side panels.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

^Hmmm, not a crazy idea. I want to see what it looks like once I put a Marquee on top. I'm not sold on anything yet, other than it will be wood and have some design and / or engraving. Once that is on, I can see better if I want to add anything else or not. In the end, it needs to look like a nice piece of furniture when not in use since it is in our family room.

I did yes, and thank you. Specs and design are very close to an Astro City Candy - it had to be a bit wider for two reasons. I am nearly 6'3" and when i'm playing 2p w/other big guys, it can be tight - so the only real dimensional diff. than most candies is that the control panel is a full 34" across, which is about 5" more than most candies.

Also, the Monitor is inlayed into that bezel (i'll get a rear shot at some point). That bezel is exactly 34" x 34" and slides into those (2) rails on each side. Thus, slide it out, half turn, and it is a vertical monitor (for vert JAMMA boards).

Here's a pic of me (playing Majyuuou), notice the "laid in stick", that is to candy specs (29"), then there is 2.75" of extra room on each side, and it really helps. I'm "centered in that pic, but plenty of room for 2 taller guys. Dimensionally, the control panel extends out and is off the ground, also, to candy specs. I may put it on casters, which will actually give me a bit more leg room, but could make it a bit too high for the kids.

I tip my hat to you sir. I admire the craftsmanship you put into this cabinet.
Most home made arcade cabinets look like ass; your cabinet is pure class.
You even put a few professional cabinets to shame.

By comparison, every other home-made arcade cabinet looks like this:

Nice man. Looks like exactly what you wanted, a completely arcade'd setup for your home consoles. You should be set now!

^Thanks, guys.

And i'll take this opportunity to thank Christoph for help w/wiring up the McC's. After doing a hackjob on a capcom v tatsunoko stick, I turned to a bud to make sure the wiring was super clean.
