My Darkstalkers Collection

Post by noiseredux »

I think it's rather common knowledge now that I absolutely adore the Darkstalkers series. Today I received Darkstalkers Collection in the mail, which completed my collection of PS1/PS2/PSP games so I figured I'd share with you guys.

Very nice. I should probably get the Darkstalkers Collection for PS2 as well. Gotta catch 'em all!

Might have to share the DS stuff I've accumulated at some point...

I only own 1 Darkstalkers game Vampire Hunter - Darkstalkers' Revenge (JPN) for the Sega Saturn, while I see the appeal, it just doesn't do much for me as a series, but to each his own.

How do the PS1 ports stand up against the Saturn? Is it the normal story?

Yeah, the Darkstalkers cartoon is not in my collection - and no, I wouldn't say I'm 'missing' it.

I've got some interesting stuff though. Like, a collection of Darkstalkers-related, mostly non-canon short stories writen and drawn by different mangaka, including Kouta Hirano of Hellsing fame. Even though I can't understand a word of it, they're still pretty entertaining. Ones I especially liked featured Felicia as a rising-through-the-ranks prize-fighter, an adult Anita facing off against her former ward, and the entire cast in a high school setting.

I'd be more impressive if it were a street fighter collection.
