What's the rarest game you own?

I have Shining Force III and Dragon Force, but they're disc only.

Once I bought SF3 disc only for $10. Printed out a cover and put it in a DVD case, sold for $50. But last year I spent like $60 or $70 on a complete copy, so that really screwed my profit.

What exactly do we call "rare" here any way? I mean, I know Earthbound and Panzer Dragoon Saga cost a lot of money, but they really aren't rare. Doesn't rare mean that it's hard to find?

If you're going by strict numbers of what was in the wild, then my rarest game is one of the Vectrex homebrew carts I have. Expanding the definition to include retail releases, then I believe Ogre Battle is my rarest game, as the SNES version has a very small print run. Fortunately, the number of people interested in it are similarly small, so I was able to get my copy for a reasonable (around $30-40) price.

- Ogre Battle (PS1)

And a couple others I can't think of right now...

Psychic Assassin Taromaru is my rarest, all my other Saturn and DC games are only rare outside of Japan.

I don't have any particularly rare games. I think my cardboard copy of ICO with the art cards in mint condition is fairly rare. Some of my valuable games are just sought-after rather than truly rare.


N.B: Persona 4 IS NOT RARE. Neither are any of the SMT games for PS2. Yet. (with the exception of Devil Summoner in PAL-UK, that's a bitch to track down, i've been trying for 3 months now and haven't found a single copy, they all seem to be PAL-Fr )
