Necesairy Specs for Saturn Emulation

Post by dudex77 »

Just curious what is really needed to be able to emulate the saturn at a playable speed and framerate? I have a 2.1 Ghz AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 512 mbs ram, and a nvidia 7300 GT, am I good to go?

Emulation of the Sega Saturn requires your processor to have SSE2. I am unware of your processor having that capability.

That should work fine, the best saturn emulator right now is SSF http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~phantasy/ssf/index.html click where it says Ver0.09 to download.

dudex I am in the same boat. I have a 2800+ chip and decent other specs and it cannot run it. My p4 with a pci 5200 tries to run games sometimes, but it is a sad state... However I am curious as to how well the emulators run on the EEE. It may have a dainty 900mhz chip, but it can run alot of higher end stuff at decent speeds, and it has SSE2.

If you do not have the stepping on your chip the program will not install. It will give you an error saying "SSE2 not found" or something simple like that and you will only be able to quit.
