ROMs vs Purchased Games
ROMs vs Purchased Games
So if your collection consist of mostly ROMs and pirated ISOs (PS2) and the like, would you still consider it an actual retro collection versus owning a retail copy of the game(s)?

Actual retro collection? Nah.
Virtual retro library? Sure.

Lol, I like that you guys are just like "NO!". What about digitally purchased games? Would you guys consider those to be a collection vs having a physical copy of a game?

No.

I second this.
But I think it's a weird question to begin with.

Digitally purchased games are legitimate purchases, not piracy.
(This is confounded a bit by their ephemeral nature and DRM, however, so I don't consider them as equal to a physical collection. And furthermore, in the context of the original question, a "retro" collection is going to consist of games primarily before the digital purchase age.)

Re: ROMs vs Purchased Games
If someone came over and asked me: "What games do you have to play?", I would show them all the shit, roms and burned games included. They are within my library of games available.
If someone came over and said: "Can I see your collection?", I wouldn't open up a rom folder or show them my binder of burns, that's dumb as hell.
