Master System and/or Genesis games on Dreamcast?
Master System and/or Genesis games on Dreamcast?
Hey everybody. I just want to ask you about the possibilities to play Sega's old games on Dreamcast? Is there an emulator to the DC - and if, where can I find it?
For the Genesis, you'll want to look into finding the Sega Smash Pack, hacked version. Sega made their own Genesis emulator for Dreamcast, which they used in a commercial compilation. People then hacked it and included all other Genesis games with it, which all work to some degree. Graphics usually look fine, and it runs full speed, but the sound needs more tweaking.

The Master System is emulated very well. I believe SMS Plus is what I use:

It also plays Game Gear games.
The Genesis is emulated decently, but not perfect. There are a few projects out there, but I haven't messed with them lately, so I'm not sure which one is the best.
This seems to be a good thread on the topic:

Hope that helps!

Wow, maybe the sega smash pack has been replaced now. I just don't keep up with this. Ganna give it a shot.
Edit: psh, nevermind. Way too complicated. I'm not typing out a list of 700 roms by hand. The automated tool is a trap. It deletes your roms permanently. Hilarious.
