The author put a lot of effort into implementing perfect timing synchronization, which is great if you're after an authentic experience (apart from playing on the machine itself)
The caveat of course is a ridiculously high CPU requirement.

Awesome! I'm all for 100% accuracy in emulators. I'll have to check this one out.

The whole thing about it actually being a generic emulator platform is really exciting to me. Can't wait to see what doors this opens for better emulation of other consoles.

The project looks interesting, and I like the design philosophy. Looks like the creator hasn't decided on a license for the source code yet though.

Re: Exodus, a new MD/GEN emulator
I'd love to be enthusiastic. But a closed source emulator built with visual studio is a dead end. More emulator authors should strive to be like byuu. Bsnes, open source and written in portable C++, has preserved the SNES *forever*. This Genesis emulator will be obsolete as soon as either x86 or Windows is, which is looking more and more likely as time goes on.
They do say that the code is supposed to be documentation, so maybe they'll release the source eventually. But requiring a VC runtime does not bode well for portability. They haven't even bothered to include a license in the program archive yet.

I've downloaded this a while ago, but I haven't played with it yet.

Is it better than KEGA Fusion? That emulator is 100% flawless in my book.

Re: Exodus, a new MD/GEN emulator
My thoughts exactly. Snake's Kega Fusion runs every Genesis, 32X, and Sega CD game flawlessly. What does Exodus do that Kega Fusion can't?

Re: Exodus, a new MD/GEN emulator
Kega Fusion have really big downgrade for me -- bad support for X360 gamepad.
I can use only direct directional buttons. (No up/right down/left etc.)
