End of Xbox Live Indie Service
On September 29, my favorite source of half-assed shovelware will shut down forever. Xbox 360's indie games were where I found classics like Cthulhu Saves the World, No Luca No, and Zombie Strippers Stole My Heart and Ate My Brains.

I'm a bit confused. What's the full story on this? I mean, I know MS is still supporting indie games on the Xbox platform. Is it just the name brand that's going away you mean?

I have a few of these - Escape Goat, Wagon Adventure, Jet Set Willy, etc. -what should I pick up before the service shuts down at the end of the month?

Re: End of Xbox Live Indie Service
I can't seem to find a list of good stuff under this banner. I already own Cthulhu Saves The World.
I don't think "bigger indies" like Spelunky etc are effected, though. We need some clarification here for sure.

Re: End of Xbox Live Indie Service
A lot of the "bigger" indies got releases under Xbox Live Arcade, and AFAIK, that's still going to be up, but their "Xbox Indie Game" or whatever it's called that's like 40% Minecraft clones is what's shutting down from what I understand.
Here's the article I read. Eurogamer seems to be reporting on it, too, though I've not read their article.

Re: End of Xbox Live Indie Service
I know there's a new similar service for Xbox One, I *think* based on UWP. I don't really know. Those $0.99 shovelware indies were mostly ignored by me on Xbox. But if there's actual quality games going away that we should know about plz let us know!

Re: End of Xbox Live Indie Service
As for recommendations, I'm going to go through and snag some more interesting ones tonight, but I definitely suggest:
95% of what's on that service is utter shit, but there are a few that are legitimately good games and a few that are stupid but entertaining.
EDIT: I forgot TIME VIKING!!!!!ANDSPACERAPTOR. That game is awesome.
- I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1
Shark Attack Deathmatch
Baby Maker Extreme (the second game is good, too)
Mount Your Friends
Uncraft Me
Cthulhu Saves the World
Breath of Death VII
DLC Quest
Super Amazing Wagon Adventure
One Finger Death Punch
Zombie Strippers Stole My Heart then Ate My Brains
Hidden in Plain Sight

If you don't already have them, Elkin, be sure to get Escape Goat, Manic Miner, and Jet Set Willy. (The last two are ports of ZX Spectrum games. They are insane.)

Are those Xbox Indie games? I can't find them when I search for them.
