Just a quick update: I solved my little dilemma by getting my hands on a new PS Vita TV bundle for $55. In my eyes that's a good deal since the prices have been nearly double on amazon and ebay. I plan on giving it a run over the weekend.

I should try the PSTV thing! That sounds like such a laugh-riot way to play Patapon 2

Careful playing Patapon on the TV. It's horrible. The timing of the beats were built around the buttons of the PSP not the analog type pressure sensitive buttons of the PS3 controllers. I could never stay in Fever. On the PSP I was amazing.
