Xbox One

Post by o.pwuaioc »

That's right...

Named just "Xbox", Microsoft's machine will be "expensive" and cost around $500 (roughly £326, although likely higher in the UK). A lower price $300 (£195) model will also be available with some form of subscription.

Oh no!!! The term Xbox will lose all meaning:

"I have a great collection of Xbox games."

"No, you don't. The system isn't even out yet!"

"I was referring to the old Xbox."

"The 360?"

They are taking the retro branding pretty trend strong to brand their new console over their old one...

My interest in the new Xbox is gone after that creative directors comment about the Orwellian system as "deal with it."

Seriously, dude, if this goes through, I will certainly find it entirely acceptable to call it the oXbox. In fact, you and that conversation were the first thing I thought of.

I'm still interested. Always on doesn't bother me. That said, I already have a Wii U and will be getting a PS4. Will this offer anything I really want that I won't already have? Maybe if it becomes the shmup console of this coming gen too. Doubtful!

I see it's a good time to be a Sony fanboy. At least they can tell their consoles apart.

But the idea of a $99 Xbox 360 sounds nice. I might buy one just to have a way to play the few 360 games I own, though I am still concerned about hardware failure.

Maybe this is really a secret plan to destroy the console market so everyone will go back to PCs.

Nah, MS is doing their best to screw PC gaming up too.
