First and foremost, FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released in summer 2013. It will be a worldwide release for the PC and PlayStation 3, available in Japanese, English, French, and German. At the end of the month we'll announce the release date, along with pricing and details on the collector's edition. We'll also start accepting preorders at the end of the month.

That video with the 3 guys on the Magitek armor got me thinking: Instead of wasting your money on fixing a broken MMO which depends on an extinct business model to survive, why not just remake FF6 in 3D HD graphics? Oh I know it won't sell enough to make its money back, but I don't care .

In a more serious manner: that looks awesome. Is that some kind of mount?

I think I'd rather pay a cheap fee for a few months of gameplay than have the game become "pay to win".
