That's a pretty powerful rig for retro PC gaming. I kind of missed out on the 1 GHZ era, jumping straight from 400mhz to 1.8ghz. But I can recommend some older games that should run great. I'm guessing you mostly want windows games.
Off the top of my head:
Starcraft
Age of Empires 2
Total Annihilation
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Half-Life
Jedi Knight
Starsiege Tribes
Unreal
American McGee's Alice
Quest for Glory IV
Grim Fandango
Freespace 2
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
Baldur's Gate
Diabolo 2

MVP 2005 on the PC is one of my all time faves, along with San Adreas on PC. They are both far superior on the computer.
Love Madden 2006 on the pc as well.
KOTOR/KOTOR II
Jedi Academy
Jedi Knight 2
Half Life
Doom 3
The Sims
I could go on and on, or you could check my backlog of pc games. Pretty much enjoyed all of them.

Specifically Age of Mythology.

Man, I gotta suggest it for freeware:

Cavestory is an amazing game, similar to oldschool games like blaster master (for lack of a better example). It's freeware which was good enough to merit a release on wiiware, check it out

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Commander Keen. All of them are pretty good, but 4 is probably my favorite. It'd be interesting to play them with a stick.
