What's the story behind the "Big Letter" Namco Museum on PS1
What's the story behind the "Big Letter" Namco Museum on PS1
I'm a sucker for cool little subsets and I also love arcade classics.
I'm kinda fascinated by these...
On eBay, I mostly see these for auctions with Canadian dollars for the currency -- where they only released in Japan and Canada?

Up front I think a marketing department to entice consumers to buy every title for completeness.
Look for the PS1 Williams and Midway collections. Has dip switch controls and easily programed to either controller; an easy software method for the dual stick games.

That does make sense.
Any info on regions?
By the looks of eBay, they seem more rare than the other Namco Museum releases.

The N A M C O cover art is standard for the US release.
Kind of small but someone squeezed all 5 into a little picture.
Notice they are marked with the US ESRB KtoA art.
Ugh I see what you mean about price. I see these things at times I need to stop ignoring them. :\

Hmmm -- most of the ones I see look like this or its Greatest Hits counterpart
I did come across this cool looking JP box set of sorts though!

Also, could breakdown of region variations

I have the five on ps1 lost track of them after that

PAL versions?
The NTSC (especially in the US) version like this seems elusive.
I saw a handful of Namco Museum games at my local store and none with the big letters on the cover.

In the US, Vol 1 and Vol 3 were dramatically more successful.
Both of them got GH and non-GH variants of the new cover design.

Oh! So the other volumes only came in the letter designs?
Thanks!

Re: What's the story behind the "Big Letter" Namco Museum on
Which is why they hit nauseatingly high prices on the after market. I want them, but I won't pay $100 for a bundle of 5 old arcade games on a PSX disc.
