model 1 saturn

i have a model 1 saturn in my hands and i have a modchip from racketboy to go with it. But i know modding it is quite difficult from what i hear. What do i have to do to mod a model 1 saturn properly?

Useing the 32 pin chip to mod a 64 pinner is boarder line nuts in my opnion, pick up a 32 pin off ebay for 30-40 bucks.

Well this is a 64-pin, but the board looks like its a model 2 because its not a two part board of the model 1.


The buttons are of a model 1, and so is the part number. Does anybody have any pictures of a model 1 so that i can tell the differnces. sorry but im still learning and trying to dig through segaxtreme forums to find info too.

well the main thing is the fact that it has a 64-pin chip

its a 21 pin ribbon cable. now how do mod your mod chips for a 64-pin chip 21-pin ribbon cable setup? its not too clear searching through the other sega forums

First, I take no responsability if you fry your system, but it looks like mine.

1. You need to install the chip backwards, but the clearance to the right side of the cut out needs to be bent just a little for the chip to fit. I used my wire cutters and just pulled the case up and over. The metal is pretty light. Run the cable over the chip and plug it in, then place the chip in the slot. Make sure you do the a to b solder first. I just pushed the power wire into the second slot from the top and wedged it in. Mine plays fine. BUT remember (read top line)

Hey DNA, I just got a Saturn like the one in the picture too, is it possible for you to take a couple of pictures of your saturn?
