Clear Coating a Game Console

Post by nickus9 »

Hey,

Used Krylon Fusion for Plastic on an NES and it came out great. Went to clear coat it and most of it was fine. The power / reset buttons + controller wrinkled though when i sprayed the clear coat.

To be fair, it was cold out and i might have sprayed too heavy a coat. I wanted to check my bases though and see if anyone could recommend anything so that my next attempt to finish the job goes over well.

Would you always use krylon fusion for plastic clear coat with the regular "for plastic" paint line? Has someone found that a different brand of clear coat will do a better when sprayed over this paint?

Thanks in advance for any help

I use acrylic spray paint that I buy from an art store and it works great. It's a lot more money per can, but it's also much better coverage than what you get from hardware store paint.
