Tinypocket's B/S/T thread updated 11/6/12

by tinypocket Thu Oct 11, 2012 2:00 pm

Hey all. I've just stumbled upon this site not too long ago and I absolutely love it! I am heavily into buying/selling/trading games (have done so for years) but was looking for a proper place to do this for my retro video games/consoles as well. It seems as if I have finally found a place to do so and I'm quite excited about it :)

Now, I'm fully aware that my account is quite new. I'm fully aware that 99% of you guys will not trust me. I completely understand! I need to prove myself on this note so allow me to offer you a few links of interest:

I'm an avid board gamer. I use board game geek on a daily basis and I participate in quite a few trades. The first link I will provide is my general info page for a spin off of board game geek and its called Video Game Geek. Check out my profile:
http://www.videogamegeek.com/user/Tinypocket

On this profile you will find my modest collection of video games. But also, to the right hand side, you should be able to see my trade rating as well as my marketplace rating. Here are some direct links to help out:

Trade rating: http://www.videogamegeek.com/trade/feedback/261478

Marketplace rating: http://www.videogamegeek.com/geekstore.php3?action=viewfeedback&username=Tinypocket

Trade ratings are for just that...trades. Marketplace rating is where i either bought something or sold something for a paypal exchange. Thats why they are seperated.

A note on my trade rating: For those of you unfamiliar to the board game geek system, we often run a huge trade called a math trade. For those few neutral ratings I recieved, it means that they sent me a game but did not recieve a game from me (its a little complicated). They provide a neutral rating to indicate this. Its annoying and I hate to have to explain myself...but thats the way it is :?

For those of you still not satisfied with this, i also have a LONG standing and incredibly old ebay account here:

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=tass1ehoff&ftab=AllFeedback

I hope this helps as far as figuring out who I am and what I'm like as a trader/buyer/seller. Allow me to put up a small list of things that I will eventually grow as time goes on.

I know one of your geeklists, it was something I was planning on making. The "Games that are easy to learn but are suprisingly deep" list was the one that got me interested in Evo, which I still havent played... Do you post on VGG? I have not seen you on the main board.

Also, since you liked Terraria, check out Starbound:

Nice thread welcome and nice layout.

Feel free to post your available for trade board games too, at the bottom of course, but certainly something a few of us might have interest in.

glad you liked the geeklist. i have a lot of new players in my gaming group so buying great games that are easy to teach was one of my main reasons for creating that geeklist.

sadly i don't post on VGG but i have most of my collection on there. I just haven't seen VGG become developed enough to support my needs for having my collection there. i can't sort by platform and thats a huge issue for me.

Should also point out - no such thing as a Wavebird for N64...maybe that was meant under the next list of Gamecube wants? If you are looking for something wireless for N64, only half-decent wireless pads are the Doc's 64 pads, and they are not wavebird quality - i'd say wired. Either Original Nintendo pads, or Hori mini-pads if you like the smaller more compact feel.

As for the carts w/SD card slots, they are available for GEN/SNES/N64, i'm not sure about master system or NES, probably available somewhere - someone else can confirm.

I can only comment on the SNES Everdrive - it is certainly a step up from the CD all-in-one burns. A much friendlier user interface, and sound seems to be more accurate. At the end of the day, for me, it still isn't the real deal of course. They do hold their value pretty well. Sevin0seven can comment on the 64 Everdrive. I think all (3) I know of run in the $150-200 range for the cart and loaded SD card, but someone else can clarify, as needed.

FWIW, my kids have the ODS, DSlite, DSi XL and 3DS. The DSi XL is by far the most popular unit, followed by the DSlite and then ODS. The 3DS gets very very little play.

thanks sooo much for the input! yes the wavebird was supposed to be in the gamecube section and that was a complete mistake. thanks for spotting and i'll get that fixed :)

My daughter has a DS lite, but wants a 3DS because of the game Nintendogs and cats.

Those carts are really that expensive?! sheesh....Guess i'll put those on the back burner for now. i appreciate the info. know where those are available for purchase? know if anyone is trading them?

As for the N64, I have a device called the Z64. has anyone ever heard of it? It actually takes the cartridge and you can write it to a zip disk. The thing is beastly but it works great! i have about 20 zip disks filled with N64 games. I paid a pretty penny for it too....
