In your setup, is the hard drive directly connected to the IDE-SATA board or do you have some sort of cable connection?

With the SATA drive connected to the network adapter, are the length dimensions same as a network adapter & ide drive? I'm just wondering how much additional length does it add and is it within the acceptable range for a fat PS2?

It seems that it might be easier to use a notebook drive which would give you a lot of clearance.

i attach the HDD directly to the adapter, just the same as you do with the IDE ones. it doesn't appear to add any extra length to it so the clearance should be about the same. notebook drives will work, but you need to use something to keep them from rattling around if you move the system.
