NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
Yup, you read that topic right. The NES Classic Mini will see store shelves again summer of 2018. Nintendo sees there are still $ out there to be made and has decided it is worth a second round.

Re: NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
I went poking around and the last news of this system was in April of this year with a TIME interview.
It's pretty contradictory and you almost wonder is Reggie lying or thrown under the bus by Japan. Reggie told TIME, “From our perspective, it’s important to recognize where our future is and the key areas that we need to drive. We’ve got a lot going on right now and we don’t have unlimited resources.” The reporter pressed Reggie to say whether or not the NES Classic could return at some point. Reggie said there were no plans to reintroduce it, at least in North America.
Five months later, here we are.

It's almost as if companies can change their mind about things.

Re: NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
Obviously, very happy to hear this. Maybe this will take the scalper rush off the SNES Mini too?
I think we all just want to get to the point where we can casually walk into a store and buy one or pick one up on Amazon.
Simple concept, I know.

Re: NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
As if Nintendo would REALLY look a money horse in the mouth. I bet they let the "one production run" thing hang around for a year, build up the near-mythic reputation, and then take advantage of that with more production.
Preposterous.

I prefer this to them not listening to criticism.
Re: NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
I'm sure there are some unhappy scalpers out there right now. And yeah, I hope this means good things for the SNES Classic as well. Maybe it won't be a ridiculous piranha-style feeding frenzy.
Re: NES Classic Mini getting a second production run
You couldn't put me in a sealed room with freshly cut onions everywhere and get me to shed a tear for one of those asshole scalpers. They deserve it.
He's right, we should be able to walk into any store and buy it at the intended price or buy it from Amazon without any harassment or middle men ripoff artists.
