I think the HD graphics of TP HD are a bit hit and miss personally. On things like the environment textures the higher quality graphics are nice, but I actually kinda liked the way the slightly 'smudged' look worked on the characters in the game - it helped give the game it's off-kilter edge, and I don't like the way the characters look with the graphics update much.

I also don't think the better lighting engine adds much. I kinda like the way old games look with their textured shadows

IIRC, TP HD isn't a true "remaster" like WW HD was but mostly an upscaled port. They certainly enhanced some of the character models, but it's mostly the same game in HD.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The higher quality textures I think actually make the low poly character models look worse than they used to.

Yeah, I personally liked the HD look. I think it was more than just an upgraded port (although not as great as the Wind Waker remaster, but Wind Waker is a better Zelda game anyway), but I get what you guys are saying.

I predict that when the NX launches I will finally be able to afford a WiiU.

The two HD remasters and or Hyrule Warriors didn't help?
Not for me they didn't. I've beaten Wind Waker before and played through a bunch of TP. Hyrule Warriors isn't a mainline Zelda game, so it doesn't count to me. Metroid is also distressing.

I'm still pissed we never got an N64 Metroid.

I am pretty bummed out by the delay of zelda, it's been so long and we have seen so little of the game, then to pull the same thing they with TP doing the dual release, it's a huge let down. Then tack on that they will not be discussing the nx at all during e3, leaving us hanging again, I am pretty disappointed in Nintendo right now.

It's disappointing, but not surprising.

What is annoying though, is it was only a few months ago (was it January?) when they assured people that Zelda would definitely be coming out in 2016 and the main focus was still to release it for the Wii U. Perhaps behind the scenes they really did plan to release the NX by December 2016 and it got pushed back (taking Zelda with it).

Oh, I think TP HD looks WAAAAAY better than the GCN/Wii original, but they definitely could have made it look better than they did.

Me and my best friend have been discussing as to what the NX could be. I believe that it will be a set-top box system that will interface with phones through a NX app on your phone via Bluetooth to take calls, voice to text and other features as such. I also believe that it will interact as a medium to play Nintendo games from peoples phone; such as the announced Fire emblem and Animal crossing game for mobile. So you can play these games on the go or come home and interface it with the system and continue to play them but with a touchscreen controller which I believe will be with the system.

I think the NX will use physical media but not disc at all but a form of SD proprietary cards with high storage amounts and fast transfer rates on par with with a SSD or so. This would allow it to read from the card with out installing to a HDD. I think it will have a HDD but not a SSD to save on cost but a minimum of 500 HDD with maybe a premium 1TB HDD system or so.

System spec and power knowing Nintendo will be on par with the PS4 or hopefully exceed the PS4 and allow for at least 4K upscale support for games and so on. But knowing Nintendo they will want to keep cost low and make a profit on the system so it will be efficient in terms of system power and being quiet when running which is always nice.

Now this is pure speculation on my part but to me it makes the most sense on a base level as to what this system will be and so on. I think it will have a solid line up at launch not counting Zelda. I'm hoping for maybe a Mario game of sorts with maybe a metroid or some new IP. Maybe Splatoon 2 is a possibility or a bunch of ports from the Wii U with all the content on the card and extra features as well.
