They added this to the Final Fight Double Impact package along with Final Fight on Xbox Live Arcade, but this arcade classic was first ported to the SNES years ago. I loved all the different companions you could pick up throughout the game and the fact that you could level them. This game has a nice soundtrack composed by Manami Matsumae (from UN Squadron, Mega Man and Mega Man II among others) and some nice, fantasy style graphics, which you can see in the screen shots.

You're welcome! I should point out though that I accidentally put up screen shots from the arcade version that show two players. The SNES version only allows one player unfortunately. However, you can try the Final Fight Double Impact version on XBLA or PSN as I'm sure they have the co-op feature being that they should be arcade perfect ports

One of my favorite tennis games which I still play from time to time. An old ex-girlfriend bought the slim SNES and this game for me many moons ago and i would play her and her little sister for hours on end. Great game.

An absolutely fantastic hidden gem on the SNES, S.T.G Strike Gunner is a port of an arcade game of the same name. The arcade game was one of those vertical "tate" games that use monitors that are much taller than they are wide. Since the SNES of course, uses a normal 4:3 aspect ratio, the SNES version isn't a direct port, but more of a remake of the game to use normal, proper resolution. To prevent stretching the image too much, the developers built the HUD into the far left and right vertical areas of the screen. This makes the game vaguely appear like a tate game while still having the full aspect benefits of a normal 4:3 set.

Like all good shmups, The action is fun and fast right from the get go, and because the game is somewhat obscure, you'll be able to find it relatively cheaply. I paid $8 for my copy at a local used game store.
