What Are Your Favourite GameCube Games?

What GC games do you like. I am thinking of picking one up, how do you think the GC library rates for single-player games.

hmm so many good ones...

If I had to narrow it down to a few favorites...

F-Zero GX
Wario World - only a single player game
Mario Power Tennis
Alien Hominid
Monkey Ball 2
Puyo Pop Fever
Viewtiful Joe - only a single player game
Time Splitters 2
Pac-Man vs.
and a little Animal Crossing thown in for good measure

for solid single player you should also look into Metroid Prime and Pikmin -- those are top notch

Super Mario Sunshine!

Why does everybody overlook this? I think it's brilliant and graphics-wise i think it urinates all over the xbox 360 launch lineup graphics. Looks so much more pleasing to the eye.

My personal favourite is Tales of Symphonia. It had great voice acting (though stale at a few moments), humour, great characters, a clever plot (starts out like a bunch of cliches rolled togther in a Katamari, but over time the story expands and you learn those cliches were merely covering the real story) and stylish graphics. The battle system is good, too, feeling like a hack-and-slash, or maybe Soul Calibur on sugar.

Runners up include:

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes: While this isn't great improvement to the original, and I struggle with the camera at times, the gameplay is great. Not only that.. but this game is ART. If you've played a MGS game, you'll know why. If not, you can't possibly imagine (..unless, of course, you've watched someone play, or you've watched the cutscences via the internet..)

Super Mario Sunshine: I love this because I find it close to the classic Marios than Mario 64. Why? It's a lot more frantic, and there are a few platforming stages you have to do without FLUDD.

Zelda: Four Swords Adventures: It seems like the NES days where Nintendo took a game and hacked it to be more suitable for the west, (as it's level based, and has lots of bosses) but it's still awesome. It offers a good 1 player game, but offers a totally awesome 1-4 player mode.

Zelda: Wind Waker: I loved this one's gameplay, but the sailing and the length make it worse than OoT. It has an absolutely wonderful camera, however.

Pac-Man VS.: THE party game. Fuck Mario Party 87565, or Super Monkey Ball. This game can bne played by literally ANYBODY, gamers or not. I mean, who DOESN'T like Pac-Man?

I agree with you on wind waker. The sailing is extremely annoying. It doesn't have the same feeling as the previous games. I would've prefered a few really large islands (i'm talking the size of OOT's world for each of the islands) and minimal sailing between them.

I thought I would be a fan of it. When I bought my gamecube that actually was one of the games on my mind. My problem with it was that the controle felt tottaly differnt from the PS1 version, it also didn't preserve some of the great music that kept the production movie feel of the original. So, it didn't get played that much.
