Xenoblade art book
Re: Xenoblade art book
I don't like being lied to about what I paid for (game and art book) and it would be a 2 hour round trip to go in person.
Re: Xenoblade art book
My printer/scanner wont let me scan because I'm out of ink.
I do have another scanner in the house. I will scan the art book, just not today.

Re: Xenoblade art book
Isn't that absurd? I've had the same problem a few times. There is no logical reason a scanner shouldn't work because the printer is out of ink. It's either incompetent firmware engineering or a malicious attempt to get you to buy more ink.Ziggy587 wrote:My printer/scanner wont let me scan because I'm out of ink.

Make no mistake, that's exactly what it is! I've ranted a few times now on the forums here about just how much I hate inkjet printers. I plan to get a laser printer, at which point I will be reenacting that scene from Office Space.Zing wrote:a malicious attempt to get you to buy more ink.

Alright, I have scanned the entire book. Since the book was given away for free, I see no reason why any one would get upset with copyright issues.avrame wrote:Anyone willing to puts some scans up of the whole book?

The art book (each page) is 8 x 6 inches. For reference, a standard DVD case is 7½ x 5⅜ inches, so it's just a smidgen bigger than that.

This book wasn't easy to scan. First off, to scan it properly, I should have removed the staples so I could lay each page flat. But I wasn't up for doing that. Another thing is that the pages are so glossy, you can smudge up the black areas real easily which will come out in the scans. Also, any microscopic dust that clings to the pages become very visible when you scan.
Scanning really doesn't do this book justice. It's very glossy, with thick pages. The pages are less like paper and more like cardboard. The characters on the front cover are embossed, and there's inlays on all the inside pages (you have to hold it in the right light to see it). All of this is lost when scanning. But so you guys can get an idea, I took some pictures of it.

Re: Xenoblade art book
Awesome work to share the art. I agree that there's nothing like having the real thing because the print quality is surprisingly high... but having scans is better than nothing.

@ Ziggy - Very nice, thanks for taking the time to do this! Preserved in digital is a nice bonus!ejamer wrote:Awesome work to share the art. I agree that there's nothing like having the real thing because the print quality is surprisingly high... but having scans is better than nothing.

Re: Xenoblade art book
How big is the artbook Ziggy? The scans make it look compact-disc sized or something.
Thanks again for the scans though. I can't believe how awesome the art design for this game is to me. I love all the Xeno games, but I think this one has the coolest art direction by far (although maybe not with the mech's, I liked the more traditional look with those in Gears/Saga). I am so happy this is yet again a very weird hybrid of fantasy and sci-fi, I just can't get enough of stuff like this.
Is Soma Bringer kind of similar I wonder? Man I wish we'd get that game. Heard rumors awhile back NoA was maybe going to bring it out this year, but eh, yeah.

Be sure to save the images because I might not leave it uploaded forever.
