H. Hold on SNES is off on PVM

Post by hking0036 »

The video output on my SNES seems to be shifted to the left and it's starting to get under my skin a little bit. I poked through my monitor's menu and service menu but I only managed to find V. Hold adjustment and not horizontal, which is a little bit weird. It only seems to be an issue with the SCART->BNC in from my SNES, the other stuff hooked up s-video and component seems unaffected. Any advice people can throw my way would be appreciated. My monitor is an Olympus OEV203 which is just a rebrand of the PVM20M2MDU. If you want to look at the manual, I found a copy here, but I haven't found anything that sticks out quite yet:

(I also found a sony on sale while searching for $200 if anyone is interested: http://www.doralmedical.com/sony-PVM-20M2MDU )

I've heard of this before, and the solution is usually to get an Extron Rxi. It's a sync processor that has adjustments for centering both horizontal and vertical which many PVMs do not. I got one to attempt to fix some signal noise my Genesis is outputting. Unfortunately, it does not do any sync cleaning, only processing and conversion. It does do centering well, and properly converts between H+V sync, composite sync and sync on green.
