Mod sega saturn

Post by sukebe »

Hi everybody :)

I bought one, this is not the first time, but this time they sent me one that does not work, and is different from what I have always received, it is violet and much more fragile as thin as paper ...

It receives much of 5V without any problem but the lens does not work at all when it is connected with.

How does one do in this case?
should I send it to you? :?

What model Saturn do you have?

Are you soldering to the IC chip or using A+B method?

If you have a 32 or 64-pin IC you can solder the A signal point directly to the chip. In addition, it was discovered that the new modchips have the 0019 point bridged. If you have a 64-pin system you should change the bridge to 0014.

thank you for the link, it refreshes me ideas, it's been a while since I did not put a chip on a saturn, unfortunately, the chip does not work.

I tested all the methods ( even with the solder that pin 8, very difficult ), but as the chip is connected to the saturn, the lens does not work one second.

Without the chip, the console works perfectly with the original games.

I really think that the chip does not work and never work.

Tomorrow I will try with another optical unit of the same model to be sure but I do not think it will change something.

Ok so you soldered to pin 8 and that didn't help, did you change the 0019/0014 bridge?

If you were soldering to pin 8 that means you have the 64 pin IC. You would have had to move the solder bridge from 0019 to 0014 in order for it to work.
