Whats so bad about Greatest hits?

When i'm looking for games to add to my collection i always stay away from them .. Why? lol .. whats the big deal? I don't even know why i hate them.

I know lots of you out there prefer "black lable" games.. What are your reasons?

It doesn't matter to me at all, honestly. If I'm going to play it, the value is ruined. If it's a matter of style, you can always print out a black-label version of the cover off of The Cover Project.

I do go for black labels if I'm looking to keep the game factory sealed. Otherwise, it makes no difference to me.

The best I can think of is trying to keep a standard aesthetic for your collection. The red label/yellow label stands out against the rest of the collection. Not that I care which version I get, as the game plays the same.

They bug me....
not sure why.
In fact I have final fantasy tactics and it's the ONLY game in my personal collection that is greatest hits and I can't stand it.... that green label sitting there amongst all the others......

I'm looking for a black label on ebay. Sell my greatest hits and pay the difference.

I absolutely hate them but I still buy them anyway as they are generally cheaper.

They play the same. I have 4 or 5 Greatest hits in my collection. I get the cheaper so, oh well.

I think it's just a matter of the Greatest Hits packages always looking hideous. The Japanese PS2 Greatest Hits boxes are everyone's favorite combination of brain-piercingly yellow and silver. Then again, they usually pack in extra stuff to make up for it. Yakuza and Onimusha 4 both have an extra disc full of content thrown in.

I'd expect them to play better, in fact.
Console games with bugs is not something new - they were more careful as they couldn't software patch it, but there WERE always bugs slipping through. Later releases of carts / CDs often have some bug fixes.

I just like my cases to look the same.
It even irks me that there are two major types of Genesis cases in addition to misc third-party cases

I've only got a few in my collection. The bright green of the PS1 cases really annoys me. Of course sometimes I have to buy them, such as in the case of Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. But it does bug me to see the color clash.
