I went and saw The House with a Clock in Its Walls and it was great, lots of fun. Good family film, although I think my kids aren't quite old enough to not be scared by it, so maybe in a few years. Jack Black is best when he's allowed to be super hammy (see: Jumanji) and Kyle MacLachlan is a great bad guy, although a little under used here.

Tales From the Hood 2. Despite an incredible performance by Keith David as Mr. Simms, the whole thing felt much slower, often more comical when it should have been much more serious and ultimately is just another straight to Blu-ray piece of schlock. But I admit it DID have its moments, such as the final story which forgoes humor and feels like the only legitimate Tales From the Hood story.

Worth a rental at best.

I have finally watched Venom, couldn't believe that so many negative comments were posted on the internet about the movie, some thought it was cringy. Sure i did not expect anything good compared to clasics, they don't make movies like that anymore, but for the superhero movie and a little positive nihilist I am, i really loved the movie.

I'm thankful this came over to Netflix; it's a decent-enough "reimagining" of the original done with the usual melodramatic Korean flair. The armoured enforcer design is still cool as heck too.

What’s the original?

It's a live action remake of the anime Jin-Roh, the third in the Red Spectacles film series, about a unit of heavily armored Japanese police known as Kerberos. The other films are Red Spectacles and Stray Dog: Kerberos Panzer Cops. They're good films but not as action-packed as the trailers make them out to be.

Watched Halloween 2 and 4 recently, as well as Jigsaw.
