You know what would be cool instead of another awful Mario movie.

Star Fox puppet movie.

There's severe lack of good puppet movies and Nintendo has used Star Fox puppets on their marketing so there's precedent for it.

It was sure better than the last half dozen or so Muppet movies before it. I enjoyed it. I wasn't complaint-free, but I did OK.

it made me literally "LOL" at times. I mean Amy Adams crush aside, I thought it was a genuinely fun and funny movie. A real deal "feel good" movie I guess you'd say, as I found myself with a smile for the entire running time.

This was originally a Legendary & Universal movie that Netflix acquired the distribution rights to. The film budget was $70 million and the production value is high.

Legendary described it as "supernatural Black Hawk Down" and wiki has it listed as "military science fiction." I'd say both of those are accurate. I saw another comparison to Aliens which I think is really reaching.

You have a group of American special forces fighting an unknown enemy. What is interesting is the main character is an engineer, not a military man. He is trying to analytically discover the source of this mysterious enemy. As a viewer, you don't know if the explanation will be rooted in science or lean towards the super natural. This element of the unknown and the special effects will keep you tuned in to the end. Running a bit over 90 minutes, the movie is entertaining but doesn't over stay its welcome. Below is an image of the enemy as shown on the previews. No spoilers involved, but placing within a tab if you want to go into it blind.

Most of us in this thread have a paid Netflix sub so this one is essentially a no cost watch. It's not winning any awards, but I can recommend adding this to your Netflix my list queue and watching when you're in the mood for some mindless military action meets sci fi fun.
