What was the last movie you've seen?

New write-up: Screamers (1981)
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I just saw "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark" in the theater last night on a whim. I didn't know what I was in for other than "scary movie". It had an incredibly likeable cast in every way, but it was more of a thriller for kids and reminded me of "sci-fi horror" like "The Frighteners". I'd review it terribly because it took so long to get into the actual story that I was bored to tears, but it ended really strongly, so that helped.
It was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it, to be honest.

Captain Fantastic was the last movie I saw. It was a while ago but that flick has really stuck with me. Currently raising a kid in a kind of an isolated environment so it was inspirational on that front. A friend recommended it to me because of the way I've been raising my son. Not nearly as hardcore as in the movie but I take a lot of time with him and it pays off. I got to brag, he just turned seven and can name just over 15 different plants that just grow in the wild out here, over 20 if you include the crops that are planted, he can identify at least 8 constellations in the night sky, knows his cardinal directions of course, and can hand me any size of wrench I ask for. The movie made a good point about being different but not too different that a person can't fit in with society. You have to conform a little bit. Good movie I'd recommend. Just watch out for Viggo Mortensen's penis. The movie marks the second time in my life I had to unexpectedly see that guy's junk.

Invader Zim; Enter the Florpus. It was a decent (possible?) end to Invader Zim, though I hope that we get more IZ down the road.

I watched Rocko and loved it. Haven't watched Zim yet though.

You should. I still wonder why I took as long as I did to watch it.

Invader Zim came out right when I was getting "too old" to watch Nicktoons anymore. I did watch a bit of it, and I do like the show, but it's not part of the Nicktoons that I grew up with. That said, I was watching the series on Hulu. I think I want to watch through the series and then watch the special on NetFlix.

I really should watch Zim. Love that series.
Are the Robocop movies besides the first one worth watching?

Depends on what you consider worth watching. 3 is a total train wreck of ridiculousness and nonsense and was written by Frank Miller (yup, THAT Frank Miller). And while the reboot isn’t as good as the original, it’s actually not bad.

What about 2?
3 being written by Miller definitely makes me interested. His stuff hits a balance of grim-dark and so ridiculous I can't actually be bothered by the bad things is a balance few others pull off.
