Harley Quinn was created for an episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Her reception was so good that she was made a regular character on the show (as Joker's number one henchwoman and abusive relationship) and then got brought into the comics to serve the same role. She shows up in the Arkham games as well.

I doubted myself not remembering her in any of the previous movies...
You knowledge on the topic seems expansive.

I'm of the opinion that Suicide Squad gets way too much flack.

Steven Universe: The Movie. I loved it!

In this made-for-TV musical movie, we rejoin Steven and the Crystal Gems two years after the last episode "Change Your Mind". Now 16, Steven has brought about a major change amongst the Diamond Authority and returns home to Earth, where nearby a small community for the Gems from the end of Change Your Mind live.

But as he and his friends prepare for a "happily ever after", a giant drill crashes into the hill near the Crystal Gems' temple. The movie's villain, a deranged Gem named Spinel and clearly inspired by 1930s rubber-hose animation, dispatches the Crystal Gems and causes Steven to lose his powers. Because he's a Gem/Human hybrid he isn't poofed like the Crystal Gems, but Spinel claims that Steven's human half won't survive the effects of her machine. As it turns out, it will wipe out all organic life on Earth if not stopped.

But when the Crystal Gems, and Steven, are adversely affected by this new adversary, stopping the Earth's doom gets way more complex.

Loaded with tons of new songs, sung by the main cast and guest stars such as Patti LuPone, Christine Ebersole (who worked with LuPone on the Broadway musical War Paint), Lisa Hannigan, Kate Micucci, Uzo Aduba and Aimee Mann, and filled with bright, brilliant set pieces, exciting emotional scenes and incredible action sequences, I highly recommend this series, though I'd definitely get caught up on the show first (though good luck since Hulu doesn't have the most recent season.

Last night, my wife and I watched Seconds (1966). It is a sci-fi/horror(?) film directed by John Frankenheimer at his peak and starring Rock Hudson. It is easily the strangest Rock Hudson film, and a bit of a cult classic. It is available for streaming on Prime Video, and I recommend it.

Shazam, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Banana Splits. I don't know what's stranger... a horror movie based on an old kids show that has as much to do with horror as Hello Kitty does with erotic thrillers, or its obvious attempt at aping Five Nights at Freddy's. But it's a decent horror flick, though not enough to spend $6 like I did.

Mind Killer, some random '80s straight-to-video horror movie I found on Prime Video. Meh.

Waterworld. Can't believe this movie got 6.2/10 on IMDB. It aged so well. They could have kept it on the shelf for 25 years and release today and it will still be a box office success. It bothers me that it didn't do well at that time, but according to boxoffice mojo they did make millions in profit.

My judgement is on the Ulysses cut though. Couldn't ignore the similarities between the atoll in the movie and one of the first Fallout 3 shelters. I bet the developers stole it right out of the movie.
