Great

I really wanted to hate Rango. I didn't watch it at the movies, mainly because I cannot effing STAND Johnny Depp. But I downloaded it for the wife and sat through it. I have to agree. It was a great movie. Lots of fun.

Always!

We don't have to agree, but I do enjoy when we see eye to eye,

Sin City
Of all the movies directly based off a specific comic story(s), this one is the best. Great visual style, great stories, great acting. It did a great job feeling like a graphic novel in motion without being cheap or lame.

Yes. And you can't get it out of your head.

Can't really decide if I like it or not. I have the prequel comic here (they pulled a Lucas, the movie is parts 4, 5, and 6. Parts 1, 2, and 3 are in comic form)

There's things I liked and things I didn't like.

I do think people were too hard on it either way. It certainly didn't deserve to do as miserably as it did.

This is probably my favorite comic-book based movie too, or at least it was at the time it came out.

My top ten favorite comic book/graphic novel-based movies would probably be:

1. Sin City
2. The Dark Knight
3. The Road to Perdition
4. Hellboy
5. V for Vendetta
6. Heavy Metal
7. A History of Violence
8. Hulk
9. The Mask
10. X2

Just watched 'Crank 2: High Voltage".

Not bad if I say so myself.

Thought 1: The Road to Perdition was based off a graphic novel? I had no idea.

Thought 2: You liked the original Hulk? I thought I was the only one. Or did you mean the one with Norton?

Plenty of people like HULK.

Nobody asked, but I regret purchasing SIN CITY. The comics are superior by leaps and bounds. The movie isn't awful, and hello with all the boobs, but it's all shtick. It does do a great job at cheesing up film noir, but Miller's comics are gritty but beautiful, funny but not "ha-ha" funny. Maybe I just appreciate the comics so much, as SIN CITY "the movie" almost feels like a spoof of the comics.

The words are there, the characters are there, the visuals are there..but something is still missing. And don't get me wrong, the movie has some great moments, but I'd much rather read and enjoy the comic.

Also Jennifer Connelly > Liv Tyler.
