True, but it's also pretty much coincidence. I haven't played the Project Diva games so I didn't know they were in the game when I picked them originally, but those tracks stood out to me anyway.

What's funny is the same thing happened to me. I fell in love with the songs first, and then realized that the majority of them came from Project Diva.

Oh, sweet! Last time I checked there weren't links to the YouTube playlists. I have always wanted to do this kind of song-sharing, particularly with video game tunes. Nice thinking, J T!

Anybody interested in compiling some of their favorite BGMs and posting here? I'll put mine up in a day or two.

I'm with Hobie - Real tapes rule.

On a side note: my 4 year old was in school (preschool) and the teacher asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up. He said "I want to fix cars while listening to my favorite tape (Eric B an Rakim: Follow the Leader) on my BoomBox."
My kid is probably the only 4 year old who knows how to work a cassette and tell which side is ready to play and which side needs rewound.

Ah! Turns out the blank tapes I just bought at Goodwill are only 60 minutes, not 90. They still carry blank cassettes at Wal-Mart, Target, etc...?

I'm gonna make some actual tapes later - haven't done it in a few years. I'll post 'em here!

Nice! I forgot you worked there. Any blank 3.5" floppies?

I used to make mixes, on real tapes and CD, with turntables and digital means. I am making another one and was wondering if there were any good sites to host it on.
I have no problem uploading it to my site, I just worry about the bandwidth.

So are there any sites that allow mixes that have "real" songs (aka copyrighted material) to be uploaded and shared?

I make mixtapes on CDs for friends sometimes. Here's a Vocaloid mix I made for a long trip to a convention:

Just Be Friends - Dixie Flatline
DYE - AVTechNO! x ELECTROCUTICA
II - AVTechNO! x ELECTROCUTICA
Brella - Muryoku-P
Astral Domination - Yamaji
World's End DANCEHALL - wowaka
Two Stories - Shigotoshite-P
Two-Faced Lovers - wowaka
Parade of Liars - ryo
Future & Aquarium - Taishi
That One Second, In Slow Motion - ryo
Corruption Garden - Caz
Sweet Sweet Candrillion Drug - uzP
A Balance - Muryoku-P
III - AVTechNO! x ELECTROCUTICA
Hatsune Miku goes at night, a vampire!!! - moff [spotty translation at best]
Rain - ryo

I made it in a hurry, so I these are only albums I knew really well. I couldn't use any of my lossless songs because I didn't have time to transcode them either. It still turned out pretty well.

I was listening to Nick Cave's "Red Right Hand" and I started thinking about how there is a certain cool vibe to that song that is only sometimes achieved. It's something that people like Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and Leonard Cohen have in spades, but that doesn't have a clear label. I also think that the meaning of the word "cool" is sometimes lost as the word has become synonymous with "good", but not everything that is good is cool. Cool is reserved for a certain feeling of subdued intensity, of a laid back passion. This mix is designed around that feeling and it doesn't even matter if you listen to it with black socks and sandals on, listening to this mix will make you cool.

If you have a subscription to Beats, you can listen to it here. Otherwise, the image below links to a YouTube playlist which unfortunately has advertisements between songs (thus messing up the flow) and is missing the final song by Bob Dylan (I used an Ed Sheeran cover instead because his version stays close to the original).
