Anyone Collect or Still Listen to Vinyl?

Post by MulishaSoldier929 »

I have officially become a vinly snob. I loooove popping in a record and rocking out! Wanted to get a record player just for fun but now I am an avid user and believer. When my gf starts up pandora, I tell her to shut it off and pick a record lol. Sounds weird but it makes listening to music more enjoyable.

Picked up a really nice record cabinet last summer. I will try n post pics in a bit.

Anyone else drink the vinyl kool aid yet or want to?

Oh, yeah, definitely. I love my little collection. I listened to only vinyl for a few years until my crappy record player (a modern one I bought at OfficeMax while I worked there) crapped out on me. I've been without one for years, but my gf got me a turntable for Christmas. Now I just need to get some speakers for it.

I still have some vinyl that I bought when originally released: RUN DMC, Beastie Boys Licenced to Ill, Dire Straights, Rocky 3 and 4 soundtrack.
I mostly listen to cassettes since that's what I bought in high school and college.

As a big fan of DIY hardcore punk a lot of my favorite albums were only released on vinyl.

Here's the cabinet I picked up last summer. Its a 1979 Magnovox am/fm, 8 track, and record player. Was looking for something simple like the one I grew up with but once I saw it I couldn't say no.

Listen to vinyl almost daily. My collection is only in the hundreds, but I'm actively seeking all the big band records (Milt Jackson, etc.) I can find.

I pick it up when I can. If it ever came on vinyl, I will try to find that version. Luckily, both metal and country continue to come out on vinyl, so I'm pretty safe.

Also, my parents have about 400 records and an estimated 2750 cassette tapes, so I will never run low on music from the 70's.

I only have about 20 right now, but I always keep my eye out for new ones.

I love me some vinyl.

I have a collection of mostly 12 inch singles, but I haven't bought any vinyl in years and haven't had my turntable hooked up in quite a while either. I started using the space in that cabinet for more game systems to be hooked up instead.
