What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendations

Zeta and ZZ are the direct sequels, then the movie Char's Counterattack.

But if you want some good stand alone ones I like X and G a lot.

I'm still not sure about that one, lol.

Ral and his Zeon otaku friends alone make the entire thing worth it.

The fights are surprisingly well animated and full of references as well.

A lot of people hate ZZ because it has a shift in tone. The first half is more comedic and ridiculous but it gets more serious later. But other people love it and think it's more entertaining than Z.

My advice is usually to try watching it yourself and if you don't like it you can skip to Char's Counterattack and you won't have missed much. It's probably the least integral of the bunch.

When you say GITS, have you seen the Stand Alone Complex stuff? Two seasons and a movie. It's amazing.

The newer Arise stuff isn't as good as the movies or SAC, but pretty good.

How about Gungrave? Outlaw Star? Trigun? Black Lagoon?

Yes, I've seen both seasons of SAC. I've seen Outlaw Star and Trigun, like them both. Never heard of Black Lagoon though.

It's pretty great. You also don't always see a badass anime chick with tattoos like Revy everyday, hah.

A lot of people that worked on the Trigun anime did Gungrave, which has a much better and conclusive ending.

Back half of Gundam IBO season 2 is getting kind of bad. In two episodes they killed three of some of my favorites characters. Whelp. lol

The first half was an improvement over season 1 for sure, feeling like it could have been an 8. But I'm ready for this to be over now in the 40's of 50, so it's probably a flat 7/10 all around.
