I can't add anything that hasn't been said, But my personal favorites are Tombstone and The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Followed by anything John Wayne (I've seen just about every movie he has been in thanks to my Grandfather (R.I.P))

Possibly the greatest non-Leone spaghetti western to ever be made. Great stuff.

Since I haven't seen it in the lists so far, I'll add El Topo.

Not my favorite, but I like the Clint Eastwood appearance in Rango. My favorite of course are the three famous spaghettis; Fistful Dollars, Few Dollars More and Good Bad Ugly movies.

Found "How the West Was Won" on VHS at Goodwill, if i've seen it before it was just part and a long time ago. Between Netflix and a 100 Classic Western DVD collection i'm set for winter... for some reason I watch a lot of westerns when i'm snowed in.

So am I. :/

Me too. I thought it was a well-liked movie.

My favorite would be The Outlaw Josie Wales. And my favorite one starring John Wayne (he deserves his own category) is Red River.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, pretty much anything about Django (especially the original Sergio Corbucci movie and Sukiyaki Western Django), Blazing Saddles, Bad Company, The Proposition, El Topo, The Great Silence and my all time favourite western is Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man.
