Hi everyone,
Lately I’ve been curious about how postal code systems differ around the world, and honestly, it’s a lot more varied than I expected. Some countries use simple five-digit numbers, others mix in letters, and a few seem to structure codes by region, while others go all the way down to individual buildings.
I’m wondering—how do people usually handle this variety in projects that require global location data? Are there standards or tools that help normalize it when you're working across countries? I imagine it's especially tricky for things like deliveries, mapping apps, or even just travel planning tools.
Also, if anyone’s ever worked with an international postal code database, I’d love to know what sources are considered reliable.
Appreciate any insight!
