Re: Random Thoughts Thread
The Greeks couldn't even get to the top of Mount Olympus. They just assumed Gods lived up there.

Yeah in the 1960s with a rocket named after one of our gods

Actually the ancient French did get on top and proved the gods were real (Europeans will probably get this reference, everyone else google it)

We'll have to wait and see.
"Infinity Gauntlet" to me at least. sounds way better than "Infinity War".
One of the lowest points in my life in judging cinema was ROTS, where the credits started off with "WAR!!!". It was laughable.
Have nothing but intrigue and support for Disney, and titles are subject to change, but Infinity War (based on the comic) was bad. Infinity Gauntlet was brilliant.
So we'll all be fine with a mesh of the two. As long as...
Marvel nails casting Adam Warlock.
That whack job from the kardashian show may not be a stupid choice. He's gold, breaks stuff, and is off his rocker.

Yeah, but we built it for you. And we flew it for you. And it wasn't a Greek god that landed on the moon, it was an eagle. More Americans have walked on the moon than from any other country. More Americans have been in space than from any other country. And more Americans died to make it possible to say that human beings managed to make a great achievement and climb, crawl, and claw their way off of this mudball than from any other country.
Sure, knock our ass backwards politicians, our penchant for war, and our extreme commercialism and ignorance. But do not knock our space program, nor Russia's. They are the greatest achievements of not just our nations or our time, but of the history of our entire species and possibly of the entire universe.

I'm glad no one was hurt during that failed rocket launch so I can feel safe saying this: I love a good explosion. And that was a good explosion.
On the Marvel talk, that's a lot of movies. I think I saw somewhere that between now and 2020 there will be 28 Marvel and DC movies. Might be too much for most casual viewers.

Not sure if kidding or taking it seriously......anyway man, I was just making a funny commentary on just this, that it's a shame NASA with such a rich history needs the Russians to send people to the international space station :/.

It was a bit of both. It's sad to see we don't take space travel as seriously as we used to. But I wasn't kidding about our ass backwards politicians.

I'm guessing if something belongs in the middle ground (like funding NASA in your case) it gets sacrificed to support more partisan projects that win votes.

I still say the worst part of the fall of the Iron Curtain is no opponent to spur us on in space. The average American's "enemy" is now the terrorists and illegal immigrants, neither of which is trying to land people on Mars.

What about India and China? They're making some decent strides and China plan to send people to the moon fairly soon IRC. It's also fairly likely that the first boots on Mars will be Russian.
