hahaha yeah sorry, I know it was a shady first post to make.

I just saw the thread this weekend on shmups.com that mentioned the last meetup. I'm working on a bullet-hell cute-em-up too, but that might not be ready by feb since I'm concentrating on the two fighting games.

Well, welcome to the forums! Keep us posted on the games. Any footage of them in action?

A return to the glory days of the early 90s when nearly everyone chose a side. Some of the best multiplayer titles from the Genesis and SNES and multiple sets of the systems hooked up for play. Platform VS Platform with titles like Contra III VS Hard Corps, Mortal Kombat 1 SNES VS Mortal Kombat 1 Genesis, etc.

If this is the meet to be, I think it would be a blast to have a dedicated SNES with 3 player multitap Secret of Mana going on in a corner somewhere. The game would continue during the meeting and people could switch out when tired/bored.

...What about the Turbo Grafx-16? :(

Naw, not yet, but I'll keep yall updated. You can download a free trial for Opposites for xbox 360 on that other link I posted. There's also a really old version of the smash game Super Pillow Fighter at dannobot.com I'm redoing the whole thing from scratch though, including all the art and stuff, so it'll look and play different from that version.

Haha. I do have SFII Turbo for SNES, SFII CE (J) for Gen, and SFII for PCE. Though I suck at all of them and only have a single 6 button PCE pad.

It was an 8 bit system with 16 bit graphics. I dunno if it makes the cut.
The PSTV is amazing.

This shit always bothered me, Do we really have to be so nitpicky when we say "16-bit console"? I could do the same thing and say that the Genesis is an 8-bit console because its sound processor is 8-bit. Hell, the whole "it's an x bit console" always struck me as dumb.
(Note: I'm not trying to be hostile towards you, but I just really hate it when people bring that up.)

Flake, winner of two Game Over gift certificates, has spoken. The TG16 is out. The 16 bit wars are generally considered to be between the Genesis and the SNES.
