I think they got it wrong, but they obviously didn't have a good experience here and I can't change that. I don't feel like I need to make a "Nuh-uh!" post for their benefit. In my opinion, the articles here present a useful service to both gaming newcomers (Games That Defined...) and veterans (Hidden Gems). Our forums are a bit bitchy at times, but they can also be thought provoking, informative, funny, and so on. There's a huge pool of knowledge to pull from around here. If these two guys didn't come across it, that's too bad for them, but I'm not going to chase after them to bring them back. They sound pretty negative anyways.

The guy's claiming Racketboy is overpriced, and wants to stick to Neo-Geo forums? That's like the pot calling the ivory black!

I think it is simply a flame. If you respond to it in the same tone you are playing into that game. Up to you if you want to. We shouldn't really care about what others think. I like it here, and if I didn't I'd just not come here regularly. I find it a bit strange that someone who didn't like it here felt the need to diss the site instead of just stopping to come to the site - something here must have really rubbed him wrong, I guess?

If I remember correctly, UnpluggedClone got in a fight over an auction less than a month after he joined. He jumped in out of nowhere to insult a guy who was having an argument with another member, and one of the mods stepped in to put him down(and rightfully so, as it wasn't his place to get into that). We came to the conclusion that he was operating multiple accounts in the B/S/T section based on what he was saying, and that, combined with his attitude, resulted in his getting banned.

He's just flaming us because he's still upset about it five months later.

Yup. Don't end up making his case for him by getting into a flame war. Anyone who has spent any time here knows that this is one of the more mature and interesting gaming boards on the web.

Also, for what it's worth, I met and interviewed Joe Santulli (the founder of the site/'zine/and store) at PAX East for the podcast. He was a great guy and I had a very positive experience with him. Digital Press was a pioneer in online retro-gaming discussion and continues to be a great source of info and conversation. I wouldn't suggest that anyone base their opinion of that site on this particular post from a disgruntled former racketboy member as I am pretty confident that most of their users wouldn't base their opinion of us on it either.

All I have to say is...

UnpluggedClone

The guy is still bitter about being found out to be a scammer. In fact I'd be very surprised if the account 'SEGA' wasn't another one of his anyway. Look at how few posts it's got. This is UnpluggedClone just doing what he normally does, stir shit.

There's 2 or 3 posts claiming shit about Racket, but then the rest of the posts defend the site, so I wouldn't even worry about it.

Someone slating this forum on another forum

Post by bacteria »

This is really bad form, someone set up a thread on DigitPress about here.

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144063

Sure, this forum seems far less focussed on gaming, modding and similar these days than it was, however it's bad form to slate another forum like that. Right to reply, etc.

I am sure you have comments to make!

Well that simply won't do!

I've only been a member on here for a few days and I've asked some relatively noobish questions regarding my consoles, but everyone's always been quick with reply with clear guidence on what to do with my problems.

I'm thoughroughly enjoying being part of this community and I've yet to see any of the issues raised by those guys on the other forum.

For shame...
