Well, I'm 32 and I've been gaming since 1981, when I got a Nintendo Game & Watch (Chef) for Christmas. My favourite consoles of all time: Atari 2600, PCE/TG16, and Sega Saturn. I'm a fan of strategy, sims, shooters, RPGs and weird/quirky games. Despite having some retro consoles (and a rombox with tons of stuff, much to the chagrin of my purist brother ) I'm not really a collector, I just like to play games in my free time and talk/read about them (I think I like talking about games even more than playing them, strange as it may seem). Ok, that's it. Hi

Cool! I'm right with you about talking about games more than playing them :)

Well I've been a longtime ready of your blog racketboy, but your archiving old magazines has caused me to register on your forums. I'm 21 and a student at the University of Wisconsin majoring in computer programming and business, 1 more year and I'm done. I've been a huge fan of Sega since I was a wee lad and am currently trying to get the entire US Sega Master System collection. As it now stands I have 71 of the 115. I'm really into web develoment and am currently doing that working for the University, and I also have to do a bunch of database stuff with reports and the likes. I'm also into guitars but suck pretty royally at it but I just got into it and its pretty fun. That's pretty much it and I look forward to a delightful stay in the forums.

Glad to have you aboard!
Sounds like your studies are very similar to mine. I majored in Computer Science (which then split off into Computer Information Systems). I minored in Graphic Design and then changed to E-Business systems.

Currently I work as a system admin and do a lot of report generation as well. I'm a data/info freak :)

Hope to see you around more soon!

Jakanden wrote:Hey everyone,

I have posted comments on Racketboy's actual posts for sometime, but I never actually checked out the forums. I figured I would sign up and see what goes on in here.

I am 26 years old and an avid Retro-whore. My favorite era of all time being the late 8bit to 16bit era and I am of the firm belief that nothing can top that time. I would say a good 75% of my favorite games of all time are in that time frame.

While I owned both Nintendo and Sega systems, I was more into Sega and also one of the few people who actually have fond memories of my Sega CD (Lunar, Vay, Dark Wizard, Snatcher, Popful Mail, etc..). I never had a Saturn but I did own a Dreamcast which I think died too early of a retail death.

Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself.

Wrong section, moved here :) oh and welcome aboard!!

Hi, everyone. I have been lurking around the site for a week or two, figured I ought to register.

I'm 27. I'm an industrial HVAC technician. I live in Baltimore County, MD but I was raised in Southside Minneapolis. I got back into gaming a few years back and I am really into the whole Saturn/Dreamcast scene as of late. I have two DCs, one model 2 US Saturn, and I just got a Japanese Victor Saturn. Now that I have that, I'm ready to mod the US one. I've been getting a lot of 2D fighters lately, but as others have said, I spend more time reading about them than actually playing them!

Much props to Racketboy as this is one of the only sites covering my favorite retro topics that consistently has new content.

Oh yeah, I also have a GBA, DS, NES, SNES, N64, GCN, XBox, PS1, broken PS2, and an Atari Flashback 2. I like comic books, sci-fi, and hip-hop(mostly 90's).

Welcome!
There does seem to be a revival in the Dreamcast and Saturn seem a bit.
I love speading the word to those that haven't yet had the experience.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay!
