That’s great. This line almost had me laugh out loud;

“Lantz added that the video game that came closest to reaching the level of art was definitely Banjo-Kazooie.”

List was $89,000; I offered $87,000 with seller covering closing costs. Figure I can always revise if they don't accept that offer.

Daaaaaaaaamn, those must be some nice prices!

I am in the same boat as you as I hope to move out in early next year.

To get a nice house in a nice neighborhood, I have to pay at least $200K. I am very jealous of your small listing price!

I was curious so I looked where you’re at (not stalking, just interested in real estate prices).

That’s interesting that houses in St Louis are that much. Around Kansas City you could get a decent one in a good neighborhood for $160K.

My wife and I paid $100K for our house in Kansas City, KS. But while it’s definitely a nice area it’s also a more affordable, kind of up-and-coming area, and the house was far from nice when we bought it. We’re working to get it nice though. (To learn more about my homebuying experience, see my earlier post about a toilet backing up! It’ll probably be thousands to fix the issue! Yay!)

Same here! I finally beat Banjo Kazooie last year - and had mixed feelings about it - so that line struck a chord with me.

Give us some deets on this pad elk.

The house is 2128 sq ft on a 1.8 acre plot of land. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. It's on a private road with a few other houses set back behind some trees from the main road. It's still a Henderson address and only 10 or 15 minutes from the school, but it's outside the town limits with well water and a septic tank (which I prefer). There's also a wheelchair ramp leading up to the back door. It's a manufactured home, not modular or stick built, but that doesn't bother me personally, and with the amount of land I have and where it's located, I'm not worried about it not appreciating over time.

Needless to say, I'm terrified to home ownership, but I'm extremely excited.

Get that well water tested. We discovered we needed radon mitigation. Also, have the septic tank inspected and try to nail down when the last pump was -- may be a good idea to just do one now.

Looks rad playa.

That's EXACTLY what I mean. :wink: That MVS isn't gonna walk itself into the house.

Oh dude, I'm gonna have everything inspected that I can. I'm not looking for any surprises down the line.

Looks awesome Elkin, congratulations dude! Based on the picture, I could definitely see the potential for a riding lawn mower in your future. Absolutely beautiful property(!) but mowing that lawn with a push mower looks like it could sure eat into a Saturday afternoon.
