Repo, that island looks like a cool, laid back place to visit.

Well, yeah. Everything is pretty much geared towards tourists. Why do you think everything closes in the fall? Because it's too cold to enjoy the beach.

Well the reviews I was reading was quite the opposite as far as touristy. That's why it stuck out to me as a chill place to visit without all the tourist crap.

Go to the Food Lion in Avon in July and tell me if it's "chill".

Speak for yourself, Maru!! Food Lion is my quiet place.

Also, REPO’s comment doesn’t make any sense. Wouldn’t the store be chill if no one was there? And, not chill if it was packed with tourists? I guess I’m not smart enough to get it...but what would you expect from someone like me who’s never even seen a dark cabaret!!!

(I’m just joking with you, REPO. I believe in you, and I really hope that one day you’ll achieve your dream.)

Also, @stickem, I was at the Outer Banks a few hours south of REPO last week, and it was super chill. (Great fishing, beautiful beaches, etc.) If you’re ever seriously considering going there, let me know.

^ that's the description I got as well. After he mentioned this island I looked it up to get an idea of his surroundings and miles of secluded beaches, no resorts, no touristy type shit sounds like a cool little spot to check out. Different then the Panama city type scene I usually go.

If I ever do go I steer clear of that food lion lol

Like night and day. Very quiet, especially between October and May, and very, very relaxing.

We relocated to Emerald Isle, several hours to the south and much more populated, while my kids were on spring break. My wife and I “worked from home from the beach” for a few days, and took a few days off too. Did a lot of walking on the beach, cooking, hiking, etc., and even in a much more populated area of the state over spring break, you could still walk down the beach for a quarter of a mile or so without running in to anyone. It was awesome.

If you see a Duck Donuts, get a donut with chocolate, bacon and salted caramel. And if the have key lime (it's seasonal), get it with salted caramel and Oreo topping.
