Consider me jealous. I'm stuck watching the Hurricanes fall completely apart.
On topic: If I'm flipping around channels and No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain or Good Eats is on, I stop flipping. Love both Bourdain and Brown, and theor nonfiction books are great reads.
Last night, I was flipping through the channels and watched a bit of "Little Miss Perfect". It's a show on children pageants. I can't believe how some parents get so into these things where they spend money on outfits, coaching, makeup, etc. The actual pageants are held at some conference rooms in a hotel. One parent spent $500 on "flippers" which are some sort of veneer to put on a girl's teeth to hide imperfections. It mostly seems the trailer-trash type of people who are spending money on this type of thing when it could be better spent (or saved) elsewhere.
I'm mainly watching football and then will switch to baseball (Red Sox) in a couple of months.

I've seen the same show. It just gives me the creeps.
Well, I *was* watching Conan every night. That and Stewart and Colbert. And I'm slowly working my way through Dragonball GT, I finally finished DBZ last fall. Other than that, I just play video games in front of the TV. Oh and old episodes of Good Eats, when none of the above is appealing.

Im trying to get through the BSG remake before Lost starts again - fraking toasters. Ill dig up Rackets the Lost topic when I get a chance. The only shows I keep up with as they air are Lost and Doctor Who (Ive watched all of Lost twice now, and almost all of Doctor Who once). Burn Notice is the only other show I try to watch weekly, but Thursdays are rough.
I enjoy alot of shows on tv right now: The Office, The Simpsons, Americas Funniest Home Videos, Random documentaries on History Channel (theyve been heavy on Bootleggers and hill folk recently - it is odd seeing my people have their story told through someone else's eyes). But it is hard for me to catch them as they air - currently working a full time and a part time job (at full time right now). So I catch what I can on Hulu/streaming, but they are not high on my list of must watch.
Have you seen the Cooking for Engineers site? That one's great. And yeah, I should find an Alton Brown cookbook. Him and America's Test Kitchen are great. Cooking's fun. It's like working in the lab, but you get to eat something delicious at the end.
