Can't imagine why the video game industry was doing poorly in 1984.

Oh my gosh! This old man is so sincere in his attempt to make a youtube video about retro gaming. The quality looks like it was shot on a flip phone, but it's a genuine attempt.
I feel like this video is kinda refreshing in an odd sense. For better or worse, retro gaming has blown up on youtube with countless high-quality videos mass-produced with relatively good production values. Don't get me wrong; I love that these channels exist. You can tell that the constant release schedules has worn on some of these larger content creators. I know from experience that faking enthusiasm every day can be emotionally tiring. This old man, on the other hand, comes across as a genuine enthusiast of atari 7800. He didn't encourage me to smash that subscribe button; he just talked about a few atari 7800 games. I didn't doubt his genuine love for these games.
Wholesome

I agree. This is the type of gaming content I live for.

I'm sure many of you have or had this in your Youtube suggestions, but for those of you who don't:
Sega's official 60th anniversary "Sega Test" study guide: Get to know SEGA better this winter. This is training for an online contest in January I think?
https://youtu.be/wqdN_L4YaDE
I found this fascinating! It discusses the 10 years of Sega's console releases between the SG-1000 in 1988 and Sega Dreamcast in 1998, and in particular the planet codenames.
edit: The next installments which I haven't yet watched:
https://youtu.be/HRLGPRHFiQE - Sega Seminar - Consumer Software
https://youtu.be/b2bQDnD5D5E - Sega Zemi - Arcade Trading Cards
https://youtu.be/DkHyxJeM8Hk - Sega Seminar 4th Session - Virtua Study Abroad: Europe Studios
